British-Italian cellist Max Ruisi has emerged as an innovative and expressive artist with a diverse international career. As Artistic Director and principal cellist of the 12 Ensemble, Max directs one of Europe's leading string orchestras, as well as being a founding member of the award-winning Ruisi String Quartet.

Artist-in-Residence at the Wigmore Hall, Max regularly performs in major concert halls and festivals throughout Europe and the US. Recent engagements include concerts alongside Thomas Adés at the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris, as well as performances at the Paris Philharmonie, LA Philharmonie, Royal Albert Hall and Barbican plus touring across Europe with Max Richter.

Max also collaborates with a wide range of artists from different spheres. He regularly works closely with leading composers Jonny Greenwood (Radiohead),  Hans Zimmer, Mica Levi & Bryce Dessner, and collaborates with contemporary artists including Nick Cave, Caroline Polachek, Radiohead, The National and Laura Marling. Max has performed live at fashion shows for clients including Dior and Burberry.
